Karel (35) has not heard from his father since he left the country when he was just a teenager. After many years, he finally gets the opportunity to meet him but the father dies the same night without providing any answer for his 20 years absence. Karel decides to find out more about his past and he slowly pieces together the life of the man whose unexplained absence left a great stain on his life.

Note of Intention

My father left the country to work in Italy when I was thirteen. He never called, he never came back. I saw him for the first time after twenty years in a small Tuscan town in the spring of 2014. That very same day my father died in a car accident. After identifying the body in the morgue, they showed us the place where he lived and I realized for the first time that he became homeless. This film is loosely based on this strange encounter.
